Having already set the benchmark high for certified organic skincare standards in Australia, and as one of the founding brands, MUKTI’s new launches harness the latest and greatest natural ingredient breakthroughs for clinically proven age-defying results. We couldn’t be more impressed by the addition of two new boosters – Vital A and Vital B – to complement Vital C. These Vital Elixirs are an advancement in natural cosmeceutical grade formulas individually encapsulating three of the key vitamins our skin requires; able to improve and protect many skin conditions. To help you with your A, B, C, here we decipher the differences between the boosters, so you may discover the right one (two, or three!) for your skin’s needs.
The first thing we did was ask Mukti herself, why and how she came to formulate them:
“As we age, our skin requires more assistance and fortification due to the ageing process itself and environmental factors. We need to address both intrinsic and extrinsic effects and look towards natural ways to feed and nurture our skin with ingredients it can utilise and recognise as opposed to foreign substances that may be absorbed and then stored in our fat cells… The biggest joy I get is when I have created a product that truly makes a difference to someone’s skin hence their self-esteem, which then impacts all areas of their life.
“All the elixirs have a certified organic base combined with key actives proven to deliver results. We manufacture in-house so the selection criteria is extremely high with the upside being we have complete control over the raw materials we purchase. Things like the plant species, the geographic location, seasonal variations, processing, storage and shelf life will all contribute to the result and make a huge difference to the colour, texture, scent and the efficacy of the final product. It takes years of fine tuning and product development. Another key component is we hand blend most of our products and are still artisanal and respectful in our creation process.
“The Vital Elixirs have multifunctional effects that target more than one concern. They’re formulated with small molecules that can penetrate deep into the skin making them extremely effective. The beauty of a serum or an oil such as these boosters, is that most of the fluid is eliminated so you’re left with a high concentration of active ingredients.”
Mukti says she would recommend using all three elixirs if your time and money allows. However, if you are wanting to start with just one, decide what your main skin concerns are and
think of the Vitals in the following simplistic terms:
Vital A is for Acne & Ageing
Vital B is for Balance
Vital C is for Collagen
Let’s now look at the elixirs in more detail to determine exactly what they can do.
MUKTI Vitamin Boost Vital A Elixir is a formidable natural alternative to synthesised retinol cream. Potent vitamin A is highly regarded in skincare for its miraculous ability to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles by increasing cellular turnover. This in turn improves skin tone and luminosity as well as fading dark spots and the appearance of pigmentation. For this reason also, it is great for treating acne and can dissolve surface oil and diminish the look of open pores. MUKTI’s Vital A contains a mild form of active retinol, Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate HPR (the clinically proven derivative of vitamin A). This is a new generation of retinoate that shouldn’t cause sensitivity like traditional retinoic acid can. The elixir also encompasses a few select bioactive extracts and carrier oils which have naturally occuring vitamin A constituents that aid absorption and provide additional skin rejuvenating and hydrating benefits – Lycopene (Tomato) Extract, Buriti Fruit Oil and Rosehip Oil. Use this booster daily to restore youthful radiance and clarity to skin.
Improving and preventing fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, age spots, open pores and acne. Normal, combination, oily, hormonal, dry and mature skin types wanting a potent anti-ageing results-driven elixir.
HOW TO USE
Vitamin A is best left to work its magic when use it at night while you sleep being most effective at the time our skin naturally repairs itself. Apply each evening after cleansing.
For optimum results, use Vital A in conjunction with the Vital B Elixir or Vital C Elixir. The Age Defiance Night Serum (which also contains potent Kakadu Plum) is also excellent to use after Vital A for additional skin repair benefits including the brightening of skin tone for a more even complexion.
MUKTI Vitamin Booster Vital B Elixir is top pick for combination or sensitive skins, as well as those concerned with hormonal skin issues. It is an effective yet gentle skin rejuvenator that enhances the skin’s barrier function, restoring balance and hydration where needed. The star ingredient Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is a multitasking vitamin which addresses a plethora of skin conditions and protects it from environmental irritants like pollutants and bacteria. Essentially, it supports hydration and the function of the skin’s lipid bilayer. Combined with Panthenol (B5), Vital B works as a conditioning agent, softener and moisturiser to soothe and calm irritated skin. Rich also in a lightweight vegan form of the moisture magnet hyaluronic acid – produced through the fermentation of Bacillus subtilis – it can readily penetrate through all the layers of the dermis, and has probiotic as well as antioxidant properties. This calming elixir is ideal for restoring harmony to skin; promoting elasticity, suppleness, skin firmness, preventing inflammation and improving redness and rosacea.
Improving skin concerns such as dehydration, sensitivity, hormonal skin issues, excess sebum production, combination skin and inflammatory skin issues such as rosacea and redness. Skin plumping and radiance for young/normal skin types.
HOW TO USE
Vital B can be used in the morning and evening after cleansing for best results. Alternatively, you could use Vital B in the morning and Vital A in the evening.
Vital B (Niacinamide) works well with Vital A. Hormonal / highly sensitised or inflamed skins should also try MUKTI’s Marigold Hydrating Cream as a nourishing moisturiser.
MUKTI Vitamin Booster Vital C Elixir is the go-to powerhouse elixir for every day protection with vitamin C being a super antioxidant shielding skin from environmental ageing caused by free radical damage, UV and atmospheric pollution. Vitamin C is known for its ability to reduce the appearance of pigmentation, age spots, freckles and even out skin tone but is also involved in the formation of elastin. It can significantly improve the appearance of wrinkles and increase firmness: Kakadu Plum (the highest available plant source of vitamin C), Finger Lime Caviar and Desert Lime are the main active constituents in this booster working synergistically to firm skin and address photo ageing. The addition of Knotgrass, another key active rich in flavonoids, has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by targeting Infrared ageing. Meanwhile, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) and Coenzyme Q10 act as powerful collagen stimulators. This is a multi-tasking essential for all skin types.
Pigmentation, scars, environmental and sun damage, premature ageing, lack of firmness, sallowness. All skin types especially mature and dry. Improvement of skin discolouration, collagen production and skin brightening.
HOW TO USE
Vital C is best to use in the morning after cleansing and prior to applying your serum or moisturiser. You can use Vital C in the morning and Vital A in the evening.
The Age Defiance Day Serum is an ideal product to use after Vital C in the mornings since it provides a visible "face lift" effect by hydrating and smoothing wrinkles. Combine with Vitamin A (Vital A at night, followed by the Age Defiance Night Serum) to further amp up your anti-ageing arsenal.
