Autumn/Winter Makeup Looks To Try Now

With winter truly upon us, it’s time to update your look with new season makeup staples. Here we look at the top makeup trends that are taking centre stage this season – which one will you try first?

Burgundy Lips

Rich, wine-hued lips are set to be a must-try this season. Rather than sticking to a traditional matte finish, try applying a high-shine gloss or balm over the top of your lipstick or lip stain for a luscious finish (we recommend Au Naturale Lip Gloss in Dusty Crimson). A couple of our top product picks for creating this look are Kjaer Weis’ luxurious and classy Lip Tint in Beloved, along with the extremely affordable yet bang-on-trend Lily Lolo Natural Lipstick in Berry Crush.

Warm Nudes

Forget washed-out nude hues that suck the life out of your complexion – this season it’s all about rich, warm colour in understated and flattering shades. For lips, look for a semi-matte nude lipstick with a slight chocolate undertone to liven up your pucker, and pair this with a matching shade of eyeshadow. For extra warmth and depth, sweep a tiny touch of cream bronzer along your cheekbones (we love W3LL PEOPLE Bio Bronzer Stick).

Charcoal Smoky Eye

While we love a sensual dark smoky eye, it can often look a bit too harsh and dramatic for regular wear. Enter the charcoal smoky eye; while it does contain a splash of black along the lash line, it’s pared back with subtler and more flattering shades of charcoal and silver. To create the look at home, sweep a silver eyeshadow along your lids and then deepen the inner corners with charcoal eyeshadow. Finish with either black or charcoal eyeliner, and two coats of black mascara.
