Homemade Salt Scrub

This Salt Scrub from Chic & Green is perfect for serious body exfoliation. Making this scrub and indulging in its skin refining properties, is a lovely way to spend an arvo.

Chic & Green Salt Scrub

Karley from Chic & Green started making salt scrubs when she found her favourite Origins Salt Rub to be too pricey. You can make the salt scrub in a 16 ounce jar and it works out at only a few dollars per jar. Why not make several at one time to give away as gifts.

The results are similar to a Salt Glow spa treatment, leaving skin refined, silky and smooth. The scrub can not be used on irritated or broken skin so remember to scrub before you shave.

You'll need sea salts, carrier oils, and essential oils. This is a 100% natural product.

Sea Salts

Sea Salts come in different grains and it is best to mix a pack of fine and coarse grains.

Carrier Oils

For the carrier oils, Karley recommends blending macadamia oil, kukui nut oil, sweet almond oil, soybean oil and olive oil. But you can just use one if you prefer.  You can use any oils you have handy, such as jojoba or grapeseed.

Essential Oils

For the essential oils, spearmint and rosemary essential oils are recommended.

Karley loves to add a little chopped, fresh parsley, which clarifies and tones skin.

Chic & Green Salt Scrub

Karley says not to worry if it looks like apple sauce! Give the scrub a very quick stir and the coarse grains are visible again.

This is a truly invigorating scrub to refresh the senses while giving your skin a royal treatment.
