DIY Avocado & Honey Face Mask for Dry Skin

 

If your skin is dry, dehydrated or flaky, this is a pick me up!

Avocado contains essential fatty acids, the building blocks of collagen – a structural protein contained in the skin essential for elasticity. It moisturises skin and has anti-ageing benefits.

Olive oil is anti-oxidant rich so helps protect skin cells from environmental aggressors. It also contains squalene, a natural lipid produced by skin cells that diminishes as we age, and is a fantastic hydrator.

Honey contains phytochemicals which have anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties that will speed up healing of any chaffed or damaged skin, and prevent infection. It is also a humectant, so will help your skin retain the goodness of the avocado and hydration of the olive oil.

You will need

½ Ripe Avocado, mashed until smooth and creamy

1 tbsp Organic Honey

1 tsp Pure Olive Oil

How to apply

Combine the ingredients in a bowl, then simply apply to your face, avoiding your eye area. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Wipe away with a damp cloth or splash of warm water.

Top Tip

Add some chilled cucumber slices to your eyes, for their hydrating, brightening and anti-oxidant properties!

If used regularly, your skin will reap the natural rewards of this concoction, for a radiant and softer finish, and a few anti-ageing benefits to boot.
