How to apply Winged Eyeliner

Winged eyeliner is a timeless and elegant makeup look, as on-trend today as it was on screen starlets Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.

Whether paired with nude lips for sophisticated beauty, by day, or red lips for a touch of glamour, by night, it is a truly stunning eye makeup look which is easier than you may think to achieve.

As eyeliner sits on the lash line, close to the delicate eye area, choose a healthy and natural formula from an organic or mineral makeup brand.

We love the award winning, organic, High Definition Cake Eyeliner by Nvey Eco to create the perfect feline flicks.

Step By Step Cake Eyeliner

1. Add a little water to the cake eyeliner to create a deeply pigmented, liquid formula.

2. Using a thin, angled eyeliner brush, apply the cake eyeliner by gently pressing the colour towards the base of the lashes, starting from the inner part of the eye and working outwards, in fine strokes, until a thin line has been achieved. Draw as thin a line as possible, then repeat, if desired, to create greater definition.

3. For natural definition, follow the shape of the eyelash line.

4. For a more dramatic, winged look, straighten the line and flick upwards at the end, by extending slightly past the lash line and ending in a thin point.

TOP TIP

The cake eyeliner can also be applied dry to the lower lash line, for further definition or an evening look. Plus, use it dry to add definition to the brows.

Step by Step Liquid Eyeliner

1. Shake the bottle, then, using the brush apply the liquid to the base of the lashes, starting from the inner part of the eye and working outwards, in fine strokes, until a thin line has been achieved. Draw as thin a line as possible, then repeat, if desired, to create greater definition.

2. For natural definition, follow the shape of the eyelash line.

3. For a more dramatic, winged look, flick the line upwards at the end of the lashes, extending slightly past the lash line.

TOP TIP

Use a cotton bud to clean any mistakes or smudges.

Step By Step Pencil Eyeliner

If you prefer a softer look, apply a black or brown eye pencil to the upper lash line. We recommend Ere Perez’s natural Just Jojoba Eye Pencil.

1. Sharpen the pencil, not only to create a point but to keep it hygienic.

2. Starting from the inner part of the eye, draw a fine line and work outwards. Draw as thin a line as possible, then repeat, if desired, to create greater definition.

3. For a natural look, follow the shape of the eye.

TOP TIP

Use a cotton bud to smudge the eyeliner for a smokey effect.
