Best Natural Makeup Removers

We have all been too tired (or lazy!) to remove our makeup before but we should try to take the time to as it can lead to breakouts and skin irritation. Plus, not to mention, the morning-after panda eyes and dirty pillow case! There is no safer, cleaner and more effective way than to remove your makeup than with a pure, natural oil. Here are some of our favourites:

Natural Makeup Remover

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is a very gentle, PH balancing and non-clogging makeup remover that won't irritate sensitive or acne prone skin. It is perfect for all types of makeup including waterproof.

You can add a few drops of jojoba oil to your fingers or a cotton pad and gently wipe over eyes and face. Rinse off with water and follow with your regular cleanser; or simply leave the excess oil on your skin for its moisturising benefits!

Coconut Oil

The coconut oil (most likely already in your pantry!) is a deliciously sweet smelling makeup remover that will remove all types of makeup. It is a deep cleanser ideal for removing even the most stubborn dirt and grime, leaving pores clear. High in nutrients it will condition skin while it cleanses.

Warm the coconut oil in your fingers or apply to a cotton pad, then gently sweep over eyes and face. Repeat until clean. No need to rinse – simply leave it on for its moisturising benefits!

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet almond oil is often a key ingredient in makeup removers but can also be used in its pure form. A natural source of vitamin A, it also has gently exfoliating properties to leave skin soft and refined.

Apply a few drops to a cotton pad and gently wipe over eyes and face. Follow with your usual cleanser or leave the oil on for its super hydrating properties.

Micellar Water

Now, natural oils aren't for everyone, and if you don't like using them to remove your makeup, you may prefer a cleansing water. Madara's amazing Micellar Cleansing water has a gentle formula containing hyaluronic acid. The all-in-one, no-rinsing needed formula is ideal for daily use and perfect for travel. It removes makeup and impurities, balances and hydrates, even the most sensitive of skin, in one single step!

TOP TIP: Muslin cloths are a great way to cleanse and gently exfoliate your face! After removing your makeup, apply your chosen oil to a muslin cloth and gently sweep over your face to remove dead skin cells and leave skin soft, refined and radiant!

Look for certified organic oils, where possible, as they will have been produced without the use of chemicals. As well as the above oils, olive oil and avocado oil make great natural makeup removers.
